My Story & My Pitch
Hello! I’ve been a professional musician for most of my life since 1965 when I started the band The Amboy Dukes with classmate Ted Nugent as juniors in high school. After graduation Ted took the band name to Detroit and I went in the Navy to keep from being drafted. Ted avoided the draft in his own way.
In 1970 I was signed as a staff songwriter with Brookfield Music, Inc. a division of Trans Maximus Records (owned by Steve Cropper of Booker T and the MGs and The Blues Brothers with Jerry Rogers, Manager of Paul Revere and the Raiders) in my chosen home town, Memphis. I was subsequently signed to an artist recording contract with my band Acrobat and recorded two albums on the Trans Maximus label a division of RCA.
I toured under that name (Acrobat) until 1978, performing with many big name acts of the time including Bob Segar, The Marshall Tucker Band and Lou Reed to name but a few. However, having not attained national status I formed a touring cover band called France and began my career as a journeyman musician until the present.
From 1986-90 I performed as The Robert France Band in dozens of the Lake Tahoe and Nevada Casinos and nightclubs with occasional cross country tours. Along my journey I was hired as Musical Director for The Chicago Free Street Theater (1974-75) and Entertainment Director (1983-85) for the Olympic Village Inn in Lake Tahoe, Ca.
From 1990-2019 I performed with my wife and musical partner, Mandy. As Robert and Mandy France we performed at multiple venues which included casinos, cruise ships (4 years including a 4 month world cruise in 2005), resort hotels world wide (including a 10 day 2000 NYE event at the Peninsula Hotel Hong Kong/Kowloon) corporate events, restaurants, country clubs, private events, etc. We recorded 3 vinyl albums and 5 CD’s during that time and sold thousands of units. Mandy passed in 2019.

In 1996 I had formed Robert France Productions, Inc. and provided entertainment for hundreds of corporate and private events with various ensemble configurations including The Coral Reef Revue, a very successful Jimmy Buffett tribute band performing as well at festivals and high profile events such as Nascar races and even a Super Bowl.
At present, I perform as a ONE-MAN-BAND (Robert France) using tracks I created in my studio (no Karaoke) and live guitars, harmonicas and my voice and the occasional harmonizer. My current venues are Land Sharks Bar & Grille at the Margaritaville Resort Hotel in Jacksonville Beach, Diego’s and Los Antojitos both in Panama City Beach, Top of The World Resort in Ocala, The Sky View Restaurant and the “Grille” both at Citrus Hills Country Club in Hernando, a regular performer for The Parrot Heads of The Villages as well as several other private clubs in The Villages, Florida where I reside.
My material (over 1000 songs) would best be categorized as Classic Pop-Rock and Yacht Rock. However, I do offer a Neil Diamond and the 60’s Tribute show as well as a Jimmy Buffett Trop-Rock show.
In summary, I’m a seasoned dependable professional providing above average talent with state of the art equipment. One doesn’t stay around this long without delivering the goods. Thanks so much for your consideration.
